San Telmo Museum Plaza Zuloaga 1 Donostia, San Sebastián, Spain

The San Telmo Museum brings together two exhibitions that present two contexts in dialogue. The first examines the great artistic and cultural history of the ephemeral Gaur Group (a modern constellation of artists that includes Oteiza, Chillida, Balerdi, Basterretxea, Sistiaga, Amable, Mendiburu and Zumeta) and how it was created 50 years ago with a manifesto in the Barandiaran Gallery. Dionisio Barandiaran was the patron of this reformist and experimental space. That avant-garde attempt at an open laboratory would be closed down in late 1967, but the outstanding career of each individual artist remains. The second exhibition brings together another contemporary constellation of artists and European collectives: Txomin Badiola, PSJM, Goldschmied & Chiari, Azucena Vieites, Iratxe Jaio & Klaas van Gorkum, Bojan Fajfric, Eugenio Ortiz and Avelino Sala. Their offerings will explore a range of stances on the critical forms, writing, memories and methods of cooperation in contemporary arts.

Expanded exhibitions, visits, seminars, workshops, two publications and a documentary complete the offering.
